The Virginia School of Metal was founded in 2012 by Stephen Brownell, owner of Brownell Metal Studio.

We continue the mission of Brownell by providing personalized instruction and training for individuals interested in professional careers in the welding industry. Since 2012, Virginia School of Metal has trained over 6,000 individuals looking for a career in the welding industry.

Currently, there is a growing need for professionally certified welders. There are many different options in the welding industry to choose from including welding/ fabrication shops, sheet metal shops, structural welding, nuclear welding facilities and the architectural/ornamental side of of the field.
